What are the different bite categories and levels of exposure?

- Category 1: Includes activities like feeding or licking of intact skin, casual contact with an animal, or exposure to a patient with rabies symptoms
- Category 2: Includes minor scratches or abrasions without bleeding, or the nibbling of uncovered skin. Exposures on the neck or head should be treated as Category 3.
- Category 3: Includes single or multiple transdermal bites or scratches with
bleeding, licks on broken skin, and ingestion of raw infected meat.

The plan covers exposures from domestic animals (dogs, cats), livestock (cows, pigs, horses, goats, etc.), and wild animals (bats, monkeys, etc). It excludes rodents, guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits, snakes, reptiles, birds, insects, and fish.
