Recognizing Leadership Beyond Work Titles

The spotlight was on outstanding leaders who were honored in the recent Leadership Excellence award ceremony at Ascott Makati. This unique surprise ceremony brought raw emotions from the awardees as colleagues proudly witnessed their leaders being recognized for their remarkable contributions.

The awards were presented by Mr. Christian S. Argos, our Group Chief Executive Officer, alongside Mr. Jasper Leonardo, Senior Assistant Vice President for the HR Center of Excellence, which made the ceremony extra special. Their presence underscored the company’s deep commitment to valuing and rewarding excellence.

There were three award categories: First-Time Awardees, those whose work left a strong mark on their teams, even on their early years with the company; the Leadership Twin Torch Awardees, those who received an award for two to three consecutive years for exemplifying sustained excellence and inspiration with their work; and lastly, the Culture Shapers Awardees, whose work ethics masterfully guided their teams from low ratings to high leadership scores. The awardees demonstrated that, with perseverance, empathy, and determination, profound transformation is always possible.

The recognitions were based on the results of the 2024 Great Place to Work Survey conducted last February, where 24 leaders achieved a Leadership Trust Index of at least 87%. This milestone underscored the company’s commitment to having a workplace where trust, respect, and collaboration can thrive. Now, the leadership bar was raised even higher as the engagement score goal for this year’s awards was raised to 5% from the previous year.

More than just an awarding ceremony, the Leadership Excellence award ceremony served as a tribute to the dedication, resilience, and heart of leaders who quietly but powerfully influenced the people they serve. Their recognition is not only a celebration of past achievements but also an inspiration for future possibilities.

As the ceremony closed, one message resonated clearly: leadership is not confined to positions or titles. It’s about leading with purpose, inspiring with authenticity, and creating a workplace where everyone can thrive.

Great Place to Work Day: Celebrating Meaningful Connections Beyond Borders

It was indeed a great day for the Maxicare Group as employees from the main offices, satellite locations, and clinics across the country felt the energy, excitement, and connection with the celebration of Great Place to Work (GPTW) Day.

Fun and laughter buzzed at the different sites as employees flocked to the booths to play fun games, grab amazing treats from Potato Corner and TJ Hotdogs, while other offices enjoyed a variety of meals from their area. These moments create lighthearted moments between employees, strengthening their bond, and remind them that the company’s culture thrives not just on hard work, but also on shared joy.

Nurses and medical staff in our Maxicare Primary Care Clinics were not left behind either – the fun and celebration were brought to them virtually through a Kahoot game, proving that connections and team spirit transcend physical spaces.

More than just games and food, GPTW Day was a powerful reflection of what makes our company truly special: our people. It was a day dedicated to building connections, appreciating one another, and strengthening the community that makes us more than just a workplace.

As the day ended and goodbyes were said, the smiles and happiness felt that day remain, building and inspiring a stronger, meaningful, and happier connection among employees – and making the Maxicare Group truly a Great Place to Work.
