After purchasing your PRIMA Animal Bite Care package, the plan must be registered using the provided Reference Code before heading to the PCC.

1. Click the registration link sent via email.
2. Enter the Reference Code received by email and complete the required details.
3. Once successfully registered, you will receive an email within 24 hours containing your e-voucher.

• The plan must be registered within 3 months from the date of purchase.
• The service must be availed within 1 year from the date of registration.

Animal bite risks are classified into three categories based on the severity of the contact:

• Category 1: Includes activities like feeding or licking of intact skin, casual contact with an animal, or exposure to a patient with rabies symptoms
  
• Category 2: Includes minor scratches or abrasions without bleeding, or the nibbling of uncovered skin. Exposures on the neck or head should be treated as Category 3.
• Category 3: Includes single or multiple transdermal bites or scratches with
  bleeding, licks on broken skin, and ingestion of raw infected meat.

The plan covers exposures from domestic animals (dogs, cats), livestock (cows, pigs, horses, goats, etc.), and wild animals (bats, monkeys, etc). It excludes rodents, guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits, snakes, reptiles, birds, insects, and fish.

You can visit any Maxicare Primary Care Clinic nationwide for the initial assessment and management of animal bites.

At our clinics, our doctors will:

• Assess the severity of the bite or exposure

• Explain your health risks clearly

• Clean and treat the wound to prevent infection

• Provide vaccines or medications as needed

• Advise on warning signs and follow-up care

• For severe cases, the doctor at the Maxicare Primary Care Clinic will assess the exposure and provide a referral to the nearest hospital emergency room if needed.

Coverage applies as long as the initial visit occurs within the e-voucher’s validity period. Follow-up or succeeding vaccinations, to complete the vaccination cycle, can still be availed even if they fall after the 1 year validity as long as it follows the treatment plan.

The insurance coverage begins upon e-voucher activation and ends on the expiration date indicated in the Welcome Letter.

Yes. Beginning July 1, 2026, you can enjoy laboratory tests and medical procedures via PRIMA member rates, even for non-animal bite cases.

1. Present your PRIMA Animal Bite Care e-voucher, along with 1 valid ID with a photo upon availing of the services offered in this plan.
2. No e-voucher, no availment.
3. The plan is non-transferable once registered.
4. Free cancellation and refund within 15 days of purchase if the product has not been used.
5. The benefits and accessibility to specific physicians and procedures provided by this product are subject to availability and may be amended upon general notice.
