Sky Garden gets a green glow-up

On August 23, Maxicare volunteers rolled up their sleeves to revitalize the Sky Garden at Hen. Pio del Pilar Elementary School. This garden serves as a special outdoor space where students can relax, learn, and connect with nature.
The team worked closely with school officials and community members to clean and restore the area, turning it into a safer, more inviting spot for the students. Their efforts showcased the power of teamwork and community spirit in creating nurturing learning environments.
In addition to the garden cleanup, Maxicare also donated much-needed school supplies and learning materials, helping both students and teachers start the school year on the right foot.
Fostering wellness through Dengue awareness

One of the day’s highlights was a Dengue Awareness Talk by Dr. Libao for Grade 4 students. The interactive session focused on practical ways to prevent dengue, such as eliminating mosquito breeding sites and keeping the surroundings clean. The kids actively participated, asking questions and showing great enthusiasm for the topic.
Maxicare also distributed Dengue Kits to the students, providing essential tools to help protect them from the disease. To support the school’s learning environment, the Gokongwei Brothers Foundation donated a flat-screen television and a high-quality speaker system, resources that will enhance classroom engagement and modern teaching approaches.
Through these Brigada Eskwela activities, Maxicare continues to uphold the Juan Community Gokongwei Group’s vision of building healthier, safer, and more empowered communities. More than just a healthcare provider, Maxicare remains steadfast in its commitment to nation-building through education, community development, and volunteerism, ensuring a brighter future for Filipino youth.
